Cameron Martin is a 6'2" 180 pound 2006 right handed pitcher and third baseman from Turlock, California who has athletic proportions though out and has some room for added muscle. During the workout, he ran a 7.46 60 but when he hit his stride he made up some ground. He also threw 72 across the infield. Cameron topped out at 79 mph with his fastball with his compact arm action. He has decent arm speed which should get better as he gets stronger. His curveball is his out pitch at 66 mph as he throws it with good rotation and a late break to it. He throws with a very good tempo and gets out front very well. At the plate, he has a very good approach. He starts with a narrow base and uses a small stride to have a good balanced swing with good bat speed. He stands tall and uses his leverage to his advantage. Martin has a powerful swing that makes the ball jump off his bat. He has a good idea how to hit. Cameron handles the routine ground balls in the field and has a very quick release with a decent arm. He has good hands and feet as well. Martin has the size and strength to make an impact with the bat to let him play the corner positions as well as pitch at the next level.
