CJ Boling is a 2019 C/RHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lafayette HS. Large frame with strong build throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.12 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance with hands set away from body in front of self, hanging leg lift trigger, shows balance, quality bat speed with good strength and leverage at point of contact when on time. Good shift into contact, extension through contact, shows good jump off the barrel as a result of physical strength and weight shift. Worked out behind the plate; stabs to receive, hops into gaining ground, short ground, stands up to throw a bit, arm strength clocked up to 71 mph with pop time as low as 2.27 seconds. Pitched as well, full Cueto-esque hip/back turn, gates hip way open upon completion of rotation, arm hooks in front of body, whips into three quarters slot release, general direction towards glove side. Fastball worked 70-74 mph with flashes of arm side life; worked in slider with gradual tilt. Did a good job of throwing strikes.
