2016 Mid Atlantic Underclass Showcase
RJ Price is a 2018 C/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from street, MD who attends John Carroll High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and room to fill throughout moving forward, shows present strength strength. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows athleticism behind the plate and comes out of crouch well while gaining ground with lower half, deep takeaway but gets on top of throws well, quick arm action and shows some whip at release, solid carry and present arm strength down to second base with good carry, 80 mph top throw, will continue to lower pop time with quicker transfer. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Stays short to the ball and incorporates hands well into swing, able to generate solid carry and create loud contact off the barrel when squared up. Projects nicely with addtional lower half, tools work on both sides of the ball. Good student. Named to Mid Atlantic Underclass Top Prospect List.
