Timothy Geissel is a 2017 LHP with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Scotch Plains, NJ who attends Scotch Plains Fanwood. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, sound tempo with smoothness through delivery, shows nice balance working to balance point and gets tall on backside. Hides ball well through back and works to a low three-quarters arm slot, lands slightly closed but has good line and direction to the plate. Able to generate life to fastball with release point, topped out at 80 mph and it gets on hitters quickly. Deceptive delivery, shows a feel for changeup with nice depth and fading life to arm side at 74 mph. Similar feel for slider, 2-8 shape with occasional depth and sweeping life. Keeps ball down in the zone and induces contact early in the count. Fields position well. Good student.
