Tyrus Cobb is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-10 182 lb. frame from Locust Grove, GA who attends Locust Grove. Recorded a 6.81 second sixty-yard dash time. Athletic, medium frame with some lean muscle and room to add. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Repeats well from a three-quarters slot with good extension through release. Fastball worked in the mid-80s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 87 mph with natural arm-side run. Shows ability to command lower half of the strike zone with pinpoint accuracy, while working quickly and challenging hitters. Proficient strike thrower with good understanding of sequencing, mixing in a slower curveball for strikes that had 1-7 shape. Secondary outfielder with deliberate footwork into the fielding process, a fairly clean gather and some present arm strength. Maintained momentum fairly well into release, staying on top of his throws and recording arm strength up to 87 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and a small leg lift trigger. Lofted stroke with consistent bat-to-ball skills and quickness to his hands. Mechanically sound approach with ability to cover the entire plate and impact the baseball. Shows good feel for the barrel. Good Student. Named to the 2020 National Underclass East Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
