Brian Yost is a 2017 1B/C with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Philadelphia, PA who attends Archbishop Ryan. XL frame with solid present build and overall excellent physical projection moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.61 seconds. Sets up to hit with hands set close to body, loads deep, balanced swing throughout, bat flattens out early and turns into line drive plane, clean bat path overall. Generates good bat speed with strength off the barrel at contact, mid-field approach with best contact coming to the opposite field gap. More power coming with continued development. Worked out defensively at 1B and behind the plate. Fields well at 1B, pivots well with balance, consistently accurate throws to 2B and 3B; 1B velocity up to 73 MPH. Higher set behind the plate, receives well and gains ground forward, transfers clean and made accurate throws down to 2B up to 74 MPH; popped as low as 2.31 seconds. Good student.
