Brett Wallace is a strong 6'1/205 3B/1B from Sonoma, CA. Every scout that sees him will say he has a less than ideal MLB body, so we might as well get that out of the way. Wallace is much more athletic than he looks. He runs OK and is actually very quick and a good base runner. He has outstanding instincts running the bases, playing 3B and at the plate. He shows good arm strength and nice hands at 3B. Now the best part, this kid is a MLB caliber left hand hitter with exceptional raw power. He creates serious MLB bat speed with a quick, hands in side swing with excellent leverage and balance. He's definitely one of the top hitters in the 05 class. The ball simply explodes off his wood bat. If the MLB scouts want to overlook him, he'll be one of the top hitters in college baseball. However, we know of one NL Scouting Director that really likes him a lot and there might be others. Brett plays hard and competes with the best of them. He is an extremely interesting player who could break that MLB prototype body mold. Brett was selected to the AFLAC All American team.
