Eric Bonkowski is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Plantation, FL who attends Chaminade Madonna College Prep. Medium frame with strong, athletic present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.94 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open stance with very low hand set, raises and loads hands back, creates separation and gets on line drive swing plane, showed ability to work to all fields with authority and showed the ability to elevate as well. Worked out in the outfield, comes in on the ball well and shows smooth footwork with quickness, fields cleanly and works through the ball, arm strength clocked up to 86 mph. Pitched as well, compact and clean delivery, good tempo through delivery and downhill, fastball worked 79-83 and touched 84 mph, really filled up the zone with the pitch. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape and late break; also flashed changeup with advanced feel, big time pitch for him with drop and arm speed. Has potential as a two-way player. Named to 2017 Sunshine East Top Prospect List; good student.
