Logan Paustian is a 2020 C/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from La Grande, OR who attends La Grande HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, still has additional room to fill and develop moving forward. Primary catcher, flexible and bouncy actions to lower half behind the plate, receives the ball out front with soft hands and sticks pitches well, longer take back but quick release and works on top of throws, true carry with accuracy, gains ground with lower half and arm strength projects well. Switch-hitter, more advanced at present from right side; begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box with a leg lift trigger. Stays short to the ball and generates whip to the barrel; swings with intent and shows carry off the barrel when squared and can work the gaps. Longer stride moving into contact from the left side, upper body dominant swing with a full path through the zone, comfort working to pull side. Excellent student. Named to PG Underclass Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Nebraska.
