Wade Canaday is a 2019 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Marshalltown, IA who attends Marshalltown. Extra large frame with present strength in build and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.47 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary third baseman. Fields with a deeper funnel to the body. Longer transfer into an extended over the top release. Gets on top of throws well with some hard carry across topping out at 87 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an open and narrow stance. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Creates jump off the barrel through a line drive plane. Aggressive in the box working mostly to the pull side but showing pop to all fields generating leverage. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery into medium leg lift at gather. Longer arm action with some quickness from a higher three-quarters release. Full effort delivery landing slightly open. Short occasional run on the fastball topping out 86 miles per hour. Short slider with some depth in the low 70's. Very good student as well. Named to the 2018 Midwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect.
