Konstantinos Papazoglou is a 2019 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Fairfield, IA who attends Fairfield. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while setting up to receive the baseball. Leans forward while receiving the baseball and gaining ground towards the bag. Clean, smooth paced glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Released from a compact arm slot that created on line carry to the bag topping at 76 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.14. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Creates top half coil at load prior to launching to contact with linear lower half actions. Hands works to baseball on a loose, extended path with a naturally lifted plane through extension. Swing with intent to drive the baseball and creating good bat speed through the zone. Flashed good strength while turning the barrel to contact and working to pull side with authority. Also pitched showing a simple side step delivery. Created slight coil over back leg at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Medium arm circle back at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional running action to arm side with some downward angle through the zone, topped at 76 miles per hour. Showed good comfort for an 11/5 curveball that had good spin and sharp depth when on top of offering. Showed the ability to pitch backwards and double up with curveball offering. Flashed a knuckleball with some float as well as a changeup with occasional arm side fade. Consistently filled the strike zone with fastball and curveball with developing feel to each edge of the plate. Good prospect that will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student.
