2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Ankrum is a projectable player with a thin build and quick actions that will play in College. He showed outfield arm strength of 80 mph and with a low 3/4 arm slot looks like he would thrive as a middle infielder. He has a good swing, just not the power yet. He showed good hands with a smooth swing and with wood he will need more strength to rip line drives in the gap. That swing tells us that he will in the near future. He did make contact with a good eye and put the ball in play. He also runs well. He has some good ability and projects well down the road. Good student.
