Nicholas Orr is a 2019 C/RHP/1B with a 5-10 172 lb. frame from Federal Way, WA who attends Decatur HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while receiving. Gains ground while working out of crouch and generated good in line momentum. Quick exchanges and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated accurate, on line carry topping at 71 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 2.07. Also worked out defensively from the infield and fist base showing clean footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Developing fluidity while working through pick up and exchange. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot topping at 71 miles per hour from each position. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Created some top half coil at load and worked to contact with linear actions. Direct, inside path to contact and flashed good strength when working to the opposite field gap. When squared, generated good carry with jump off the barrel. Good student as well.
