Hartman Holmes is a 2017 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends The Dunham HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows quick footwork with balance to actions, stays smooth and picks it well, covers ground, fields the ball out front, works to a short and compact arm action, arm strength will continue to develop with physical gains, can throws from multiple arm slots. Also pitched, side step into delivery with a leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside, works to a low release point regularly but will vary looks with intent. Simple delivery, fastball topped out at 75 mph, threw strikes with short sinking life, gets hitters off balance and shows 11-5 shape to curveball with tilt. Switch-hitter, begins with a spread stance from the right side with a high hand set, aggressive approach at the plate. Quick hands, ball comes off the barrel well and shows the comfort to work the opposite field, handles the barrel well, shows better bat speed at present from right side. Starts with an open stance from the left side, utilizes a pull side approach from left side and can turn on the ball, full swing through the zone. Good student.
