Ben Zimmerman is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Pace, FL who attends IMG Academy. Has a lean build with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to mature physically and put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.50 sixty yard dash. From the mound, showed a deceptive delivery with good finish and extension. Stays online with good glove side mechanics. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm circle in the back. Fastball has natural arm side run and sinking action, curveball showed 1/7 shape with big break and depth. From the outfield, showed athletic actions with solid footwork. Attacks the baseball working through, developing arm strength up to 72 MPH. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a spread stance and a leg lift trigger. Has a middle of the field appraoch with good extension through the baseball, developing ability to get weight transfer. Excellent student.
