Payton Martin is a 2022 SS/2B with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Winston Salem, NC who attends West Forsyth. Medium frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill. Ran a 7.47 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with bounce to actions, fields it well out front with a confident glove, some length to transfers but shows good arm strength on throws across. Righthanded hitter, sets up open, has great hand quickness that generates some bat speed working short to the ball, shows feel for the barrel and can generate lift to the middle of the field and will improve results as he gets the barrel out more. Very good student.
