Giovany Torres is a 2016 SS with a 5-11 168 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Ana J Candelas. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build with high waist and room to fill out with additional strength throughout. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows quick footwork defensively and moves well up the middle, fields close to body, gets on top of throws and shows strength and accuracy across the diamond with long release. Righthanded hitter, starts with an upright stance and lower hand set pulled back. Short and direct swing to the ball, line drive swing plane, shows fluidity and quickness to the barrel coming through the zone. Occasionally glides to front foot early, inside path to the ball, looks to pull and creates line drive contact off the barrel.
