Jake Bielat is a 2018 MIF/OF with a 5-6 165 lb. frame from Littleton, CO who attends J. K. Mullen. Compact frame with a lean build. Projects for additional size and strength. Ran a 7.22 sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infielder with with quick, athletic footwork while surrounding the baseball. Flashed good range to back hand with fluid actions. Primarily funnels the baseball out front with clean exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters slot producing on line carry to the bag at 74 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield, closes to the baseball with deliberate footwork. Works through the baseball well with quick, clean exchanges. High energy, compact three-quarters slot at release generating accurate carry, topped at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a crouched, even stance and high back elbow set. Creates occasional shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact, direct path to contact with a level plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field with a line drive approach, but showed the present barrel control and bat speed to work to all fields as well.
