2021 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Matthew Walker is a 2025 C/2B, OF with a 5-5 130 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends Etowah. Recorded an 8.57 second sixty yard dash time. Smaller frame and young look with plenty of physical development still to come. Primary catcher with a low and side straddle set up, tends to reach for the ball to receive and pull the glove to transfer. High effort thrower, has present flexibility and agility in the lower half. Clean transfers and tends to throw uphill, developing arm strength and physicality at present. Switch-hitter with a narrow base and relaxed stance, drops the hands and leans back his body to start the swing. Shows a long and uphill swing path, really tries to lift the ball and swing with high intent. Will improve impact potential as he grows and gets stronger, can improve approach to better fit his profile at present. Excellent student.
