James Harnedy is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from White Plains, NY who attends Valhalla. Large frame with long, lean present build; body projects very well moving forward. Leg lift up high past belt level into delivery with slight hip coil, works exclusively from the stretch, shows full arm action up to extended high three quarters slot. Generates good extension out front through release. Fastball works 75-79 MPH and touched 80 MPH; some sinking life on the pitch down in the zone. Shows curveball with 11/5 shape and tight rotation; also threw changeup with some fading action but will slow arm down a bit to throw offspeed. Did a good job working to both sides of the plate and throwing strikes with all of his pitches, sequenced well and kept hitters off balance. Projects very well as a pitcher overall. Good student.
