AJ Causey is a 2021 RHP/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Madison, AL who attends Sparkman. Large frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.45 seconds. Primary pitcher, works from the stretch, high leg lift, lands slightly open downhill, throws from a couple arm slots, fastball worked 86-90 from 3/4 slot, more 82-84 mph from subby slot, excellent running life from lower slot, shows curveball with good depth from up top and slider with sweep from down low, also flashed a changeup, good pitchability and strikes. Hits from narrow upright stance, bars hands into load, dips on backside and gets barrel moving uphill, good strength with power projection. Worked out in the infield, hands work well, profiles at 3B, quality arm strength, clocked up to 86 mph on throws. Very good student, named to 2020 National Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List, committed to Jacksonville State.
