Dan Belding is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Holbrook NY, who attends Sachem East. Belding has a big frame with a nice lean build. He has long arms and legs. Belding pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a medium length arm action. Belding uses drop and drive mechanics and pitches with some effort. He gets armside run on his fastball and occasionally it explodes late. He also throws an 11/5 curveball that had sharp late break. He has a good quick pickoff move to first base. At the plate, Belding starts with a wide stance and swings from a crouch. He maintains balance through his swing and keeps his hands inside the baseball. He uses a no load approach and has a level bat path. Belding is a contact hitter. Defensively he has arm strength from the outfield and moves around well. Belding has a projectable body and is also a very good student.
