Luke Bailey is a 2018 OF/ with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Chaparral. Large frame with long limbs, broad shoulders and present strength. Ran a 7.23 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, athletic footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while picking up the baseball and generated good momentum to the bag while working through transfer. Long arm circle back at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Loose hand path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Present bat speed with strength at contact and flashed the ability to turn barrel and produce loud, hard contact. Also pitched showing a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Creates slight coil over back leg at gather and utilizes lower half while driving to the plate. Released from a three-quarters arm slot with a fastball offering that had good downhill action through the zone topping at 82 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with sharp, late depth in the low 70's. Consistently worked to each edge of the plate and effectively changed speeds. Very good student as well.
