Zion Walker is a 2020 RHP/3B, IF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Mableton, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Athletic frame with wiry strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary right handed pitcher with a small side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays slightly flexed on back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to the plate well. Released from a loose, mid three-quarters arm slot generating some downward angle through the zone with a fastball that topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball showed 10/5 shape with occasional spin and depth in the upper 60's. Consistently looked to attach the bottom of the zone and challenge hitters with both offerings. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange efficiently. Displayed solid carry while releasing from a three-quarters slot, topped at 79 miles per hour to the bag. Right handed hitter with an even stance and leg lift trigger. Utilized a high contact approach with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to work the ball on a line to the middle of the field, but flashed some jump to the gaps when squared. Good student.
