2021 West Coast Prospect Showcase
Paxton Ponder is a 2022 SS/2B with a 5-10 163 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Reedy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and room to fill throughout with added strength moving forward. Ran a 6.93 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, solid footwork on the approach and working through the ball, extra step moving into release, effort on throws across the diamond but shows nice arm strength and carry from a shorter arm stroke. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high back elbow at the plate. Loads hands back at start of swing but does a nice job of remaining short to the ball and remains direct, nice present bat speed through the zone. Projects with additional extension in swing, comfort working to all parts of the field, best jump off of the barrel comes to pull side, has more strength to unlock moving forward. Very good student. Named to the West Coast top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
