Patrick Hicks is a 2018 RHP/UT with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends Santa Fe Catholic High School. Medium frame and build with athleticism and room to fill in his frame. Posted a 7.40 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, three quarter arm slot with an online delivery and a medium arm circle through the back. Upright at release with developing arm speed and was around the zone with all of his pitches. Fastball worked 77-79 mph with some arm side life. Also threw 73 mph curveball with 11/5 shape that showed some depth and sharpness. Also worked out in the field, showed a good first step with a longer arm action and fielded out in front. From the outfield, created good momentum with a lower three quarter slot. At the plate, started with a narrow base and a high hand set with a leg lift timing mechanism. Pull oriented approach, bit rotational through zone with the best contact coming when timed. Would do well with further lower half incorporation. Very good student.
