2022 WWBA Workout Showcase (June 23)
Ty Baker is a 2023 MIF/C with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton. Baker has athleticism present in the medium build with additional room to fill out and add strength. From his primary MIF spot, he received out in front with softer hands touching 75 mph across the diamond. He kept the throwing mechanics controlled and produced accurate throws to 1B. Behind the dish, Baker flashed a mid-line transfer with quick footwork, releasing efficiently to post a 2.05 pop time. Offensively, the righty started from a slightly open stance with balance evident in the stroke to generate impact to the middle of the field. As the barrel control refines, Baker will further build on the tools already present. Posted an exit velo of 84 mph. Ran a 7.19 sixty yard dash. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
