Landon Ervin is a 2020 C with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Forney, TX who attends Forney HS. Medium lean build with the beginnings of some present strength. Has solid mechanics and footwork behind the plate defensively, has a quick release and makes accurate throws, 2.13 best pop time, receives the ball cleanly and easily, best present tools and skills are on defense. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a limited shift into contact, simple swing mechanics, short downward swing path, ground ball/middle of the field approach, is a patient hitter and has a good feel for the strike zone, can improve offensively with a better swing plane and more extension through contact.
