Matthew Hill is a 2019 OF/MIF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Pineville, NC who attends South Mecklenburg HS. Medium athletic build, some compact present strength. Good runner, 6.83 in the sixty. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a high hand set, stays balanced in his swing, very compact swing with a direct bat path, line drive middle of the field approach, gets good plate coverage and can work to all fields, high contact/high average approach, top of the order skills and tools with his speed and hitting approach. Attacks the ball aggressively in the outfield, footwork is pretty sound fundamentally, makes accurate throws with developing arm strength.
