2019 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Xavier Baker is a 2021 SS/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Bloomfield, NJ who attends Depaul Catholic. High waisted, athletic build with muscle tone to his current frame. Explosive movements with upside evident, 6.89 60 yd dash. Primary infielder; good fundamental footwork, glove work is clean with some present arm strength across the diamond. Right handed hitter; spread stance, quick inward hover, quick hands that produce some carry. Despite some noisy pre-launch movements, creates consistent bat to ball accuracy. Secondary right handed pitcher; uptempo delivery, side step to redirect into leg lift, gathers well, slight hip turn. Short, quick arm stroke, low three quarters release with life to it, caused some uncomfortable swings. Named to 2019 National Underclass-Main Event Top Prospect List.
