Cole Mascott is a 2023 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Newburyport, MA who attends Phillips Academy. Recorded a 7.63 second sixty-yard dash time. Large frame with long levers and some present strength. Primary first basemen with smooth footwork around the bag, fairly quick turns and accurate throws across the diamond. Well-engaged lower half with clean funnel out in front and throws recorded up to 79 mph in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher; fairly simple operation with large side-step rocker into an inward leg lift and efficient lower half mechanics. Works from an extended three-quarters arm slot, flashing short life to the fastball that worked in the 76-81 mile per hour range. Secondary offerings are still in the developmental stages with varying shapes to the breaking ball and inconsistent feel for the changeup. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and short leg lift trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with the ability to turn the barrel and present bat speed. Developing power potential with leverage out in front and some impact when on time. Will continue to improve with slight adjustments and continued maturity. Excellent Student.
