Travis Warinner is a 2020 SS/2B, OF with a 5-9 166 lb. frame from Glendale, AZ who attends Mountain Ridge. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, maintains balance to actions and moves well up the middle as well as on the charge, fields the ball out front, opens front side early prior to release at times, nice carry on throws across the diamond from an extended slot, shows accuracy when on top of the ball. Also pitched, small rock step into a slight hip turn at top; shorter arm stroke working to a three-quarters release point. Maintains nice direction towards the plate, fastball topped out at 85 mph with heavy running life to arm side and sink when down; flashed a slider at 77 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall and narrow stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; limited shift through leg lift trigger moving into contact. Shows looseness to overall path and gets the barrel through the zone well, projects with additional lower half incorporated into swing. Aggressive approach at the plate, swung it well in live action and gets the barrel to the ball well, occasionally gets uphill with plane. Very good student. Named to the West Coast Top Prospect List.
