Joseph Hernandez is a 2021 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-10 167 lb. frame from Grand Prairie, TX who attends South Grand Prairie. Compact frame with some present strength to the build and still more room to fill. Ran an 8.07 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves to the baseball quickly fielding the baseball out in front, works to and through the baseball well, loose arm up to an over the top arm slot, carry to throws, uses his body well into release, topped out at 72 mph from the outfield. Secondary first baseman, showcased clean hands and athletic movements around the bag during first base drills. Also pitched, deceptive delivery working up to a high 3/4 arm slot, threw all fastballs in a single inning working up to 73 mph. Lefthanded hitter, even base shifting weight from backside into contact, middle of the field approach with a line drive swing plane, rotational actions that result in line drives up the middle to pull when squared. Good student.
