Tyler Gonzalez is a 2022 2B/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-0 187 lb. frame from Tolland, CT who attends The Cheshire Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields out front and funnels into body, takes longer strides moving towards the ball to backhand, showed the ability to drop slot on throws, some carry on throws, under ball at release occasionally. Left-handed hitter, begins with a medium hand set and a lower back elbow at the plate; hands start pulled back but stays short with swing path through the zone. Keeps hands inside the ball, gets closed moving into contact with lower half, best contact when getting extended out front, shows some strength off of the barrel and has strength in hands. Very good student.
