Mark Gialluisi is a 2023 C/OF with a 5-11 192 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends St. Joseph. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, replaces feet well coming out of crouch and shows some bounce to actions, very quick coming out with a clean exchange, repeats actions, shows some present carry on throws down to second base from a higher slot. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Incorporates physical strength into swing, direct path to the ball, oqccaiosnally gets downward with swing path. Utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box, best when working on a linear path and shows the ability and comfort to use all fields, simple mechanics and able to repeat well. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Virginia.
