Daerek Sawyer is a 2022 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 138 lb. frame from Clarksburg, MD who attends Clarksburg. Very slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. Short side step delivery with an over the top arm slot, arm is loose and easy with good extension out front, has good tempo to his mechanics and repeats them well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, plenty of late arm side running life, shows the ability to spot his fastball and pitch to spots, lots of swing and miss on the pitch during this outing. Curveball spun well with good depth from the same arm slot, solid second pitch for him. Has all the elements to be a very good pitcher if he can get stronger. 7.30 runner, showed his athleticism well in the infield, has flow and rhythm through the ball and can throw on the move from different arm slots. Right handed hitter, has a sound base swing with good balance and direction, swings hard and has some barrel accuracy with a line drive swing plane.
