2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Jason Alvarado is a 2026 MIF/C with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Bogota, NJ who attends St. Joseph Regional. Medium build with good athleticism and some twitch to his actions. Plenty of time for the young athlete to add physicality. Primary position IF, using a quick first step and long strides to cover good ground on the clay. Firmer glove action but securing the ball well and time to soften hands in the future. Bends at the waist to field, could get in legs a bit more but understands angles and made the plays. Tools present with good projection here longterm. Arm really played well here, showing throws up to 77 mph across the diamond. RHH working from a wider base and high handset, using toe-tap trigger to get himself going mechanically. Loose hands with leveraged stroke, creating loud contact. Good separation to create torque, leading to hand speed that really works well with his middle of the field approach. Good round of batting practice overall with gap to gap line drives and the type of juice that projects well longterm. Very good student as well.
