Cody Maupin is a 2019 C/IF, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.21 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a narrow, side set stance while receiving. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with smooth paced footwork. Low, clean exchanges while working through transition and released from a lower arm. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, deliberate footwork while closing to the ball. Two handed funnels off to side of body while working through the baseball with clean actions through transfer. Compact arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Hands slide to a lower launching position and work to contact on a loose path. Looks to create lift at contact while turning the barrel through the zone and working to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Very good student as well.
