Gus Vickers is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Naples, FL who attends St. John Neumann. Wiry frame with good projection. Recorded a 7.28 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with sound actions, stays low and through the ball, gets around it and going to the bag, moves well to both sides, strong glove skills with clean transfers, good carry on throws and changes the arm slot to throw on the move. Also pitched at this event, simple delivery, small arm circle in the back to a high three-quarters arm slot, quick arm, creates good downhill plane on the fastball and lives down in the zone, flashed feel for an 11-to-5 shaped slider that generated swing-and-miss. Right-handed hitter, stands upright and narrow, opens wide at contact, great feel for the barrel, shows good bat speed and an overall clean and simple operation that played well in-game. Great student. Named to 2019 Uncommitted Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
