Matt Miceli is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Branchburg, NJ who attends Somerville. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Fluid glove actions while funneling and worked through exchange quickly. Flashed the ability to create accurate carry to the bag from multiple arm slot while throwing on the run, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Showed a smooth, clean hand path to baseball with a linear barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout and effectively threw the barrel to contact. Primarily worked to the middle of the field with the ability to split the pull side gap when squared. Also pitched showing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays flexed at gather and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing occasional downhill plane in the mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Consistently located to the bottom of the zone and challenged hitters.
