Daniel Ouderkirk is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-9 205 lb. frame from Penn Laird, VA who attends Spotswood High School. Extra-large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and tremendous room to continue to fill out and add strength. Primary right handed pitcher, threw incredibly easy with a deliberate delivery and a long, loose arm action. Short stride to the plate and a closed finish, working over a stiff front leg. Clean release from a three quarter arm slot and limited lower half drive down the mound. Works well through fastball with developing command. Fastball came out incredibly easy at 83-86 mph with heaviness to the lower third of the zone. Easy to project more velocity coming on fastball. Worked aggressively inside on right handed hitters and challenged others up in the zone. Showed a changeup with fade at 77 mph with replicated arm speed and short depth. High ceiling pitcher that will see velocity bump with incorporation of lower half. Very good student.
