Brett Tumosa is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Willington, CT who attends E.O. Smith High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long and lean build that projects with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows softness to hand when fielding the ball out front, moves well on feet and shows range up the middle with balance to actions, quick transfer with an extra step at release, full arm action, gets on top of throws, carry on throws will continue to develop with additional strength. Also pitched, begins with a leg lift slightly up past belt, gets tall on backside with short stride down the mound. Similar full arm action through the back, gets to a high three-quarters arm slot at release with balance and rhythm. Gets on top of fastball, topped out at 75 mph and able to generate some sink down in the zone. Throws strikes, occasionally gets around 11-5 shaped curveball and gives it more tilt action resembling a slider. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance and a high back elbow in the box. Starts swing with a leg lift trigger for timing, short and inside swing path through the zone, stays direct with a long finish through the ball. Projects with additional extension in swing, line drive swing plane with a contact approach and ability to work all fields, can turn on inner half. Good student.
