Ken Hemmer is a 2020 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Mt Prospect, IL who attends American School in Japan. Medium frame with athletic look; good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.01 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher. Arm works well through the back with looseness and arm speed, throwing from three quarters slot release with good angle to the plate. Pauses at top of delivery, generates solid lower half drive into soft front side landing, struggles to create leverage as a result. Fastball worked 75-77 mph with some arm side life. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape and good depth; also mixed in changeup with good arm speed. Sets up to hit from even-based stance with small leg kick trigger; rigid hand load, shows bat speed on linear swing plane, showed good ability to work to all fields, good barrel when square. Worked out in the infield; surrounds the ball well with good footwork and hip swivel, has athleticism to actions, stays balanced and fields cleanly, gets off quick release across the diamond with arm strength clocked up to 76 mph. Very good student.
