Hunter Schwartz is a 2019 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Germantown, TN who attends St. George's. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch to a taller throwing position. Compact exchanges while working through transition and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 77 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.10. Left handed hitter with a slightly crouched, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Created some shift into contact with lower half. Direct, compact hand path to contact with a clean, naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed good fluidity in swing with solid feel for the barrel. Consistently worked to the middle of the field displaying good strength to the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and worked to the plate with tall and fall actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball produced some downward tilt through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm slightly with a breaking ball offering that had 11/5 shape with looser spin and some depth. Flashed solid feel for breaking ball with the willingness to double up and pitch backwards when necessary. Outstanding student. Named to the 2018 National Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
