AJ Montgomery is a 2019 OF/3B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Sugar Land, TX who attends Kempner. Medium, athletic frame with young, slender present build; good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Sets up to hit with high hands and high back elbow, direct path to ball with hands, stays committed to the middle of the field on a line drive plane and showed the ability to barrel the ball up to all fields. Will drive the ball better with increased strength. Worked out defensively in the outfield. Shows good footwork coming in on the ball, stays balanced through actions, fields cleanly and makes quick transfer and release, shows good accuracy on throws back to the infield with arm strength clocked at 72 MPH. Good student.
