Jay Slater is a 2024 C/2B/3B with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Downingtown, PA who attends Downingtown West Campus. Large frame with solid, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.52 seconds. Hits with hands and back elbow set high, good rhythm to hands, loads into bar, big dive on backside to create uphill swing path, has strength and can lift with authority to pull-side, projects for continued power gains. Worked out behind the plate, gets out of crouch well and shows balance to footwork and good pace to actions, repeats mechanics well, solid arm strength clocked up to 79 mph down to 2nd base. Excellent student, committed to Duke.
