Ethan Gibson is a 2023 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Abingdon, VA who attends Abingdon HS. Recorded a 6.81 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with good athleticism and room to fill out. Primary shortstop with fast footwork and gets his lower half moving well. Solid arm strength up to 86 mph across the diamond. Accurate from a lower slot and from the hole with a quick release and good body control. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a longer, quick arm stroke. Big horizontal movement on the fastball in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph, with big sweep to the curveball. Athletic with arm speed and solid projection. Right-handed hitter with a hand pump and can get the barrel out to pull. Athletic swing with power projection. Stays compact and repeats well. Tremendous student. Verbal commitment to Virginia Tech.
