Elijah Baker is a 2019 C/RHP/UT with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Charleston, SC who attends First Baptist HS. Medium frame with slender build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Hits from upright and open stance with high hand set, leg lift trigger with foot down very early, line drive swing plane with slight lift, wants to stay inside ball, handsy swing with solid barrel skills, showed best pop to pull side. Worked out behind the plate, receives well and shows ability to gain ground, low transfer with quick release, clocked up to 70 mph on throws to bag. Also pitched, compact arm stroke to overtop slot, good downhill plane, likes to work low in zone to get ground balls, fastball worked 72-74 mph and peaked at 75 mph. Worked in curveball with good depth, comfortable throwing it in any count. Worked quickly and pounded the zone with both pitches. Good student.
