Jon Abbondandolo is a 2020 UT/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Highland Beach, FL who attends Boca Raton Community. Medium frame, lean build with room to fill. Recorded a 7.44 second 60-yard dash. Utility player, worked out in the infield with athletic actions, gets around the ball well and stays low through it, short and quick arm action, adjusts slot well as necessary, solid glove with a smooth transfer and good carry on throws. Worked out in the outfield with short and quick strides, attacks the ball well and receives out front, transfers it quickly and stays on line with throws. Also pitched in the event, works only from the stretch, hides the ball well with a short arm action, creates extension and topped out at 76 mph. Showed feel for a curveball of 11-to-5 shape when on top. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a higher back elbow. Works a simple approach at the plate, big load into a wide base at contact, adjusts the body well into swing and creates line drive contact. Shows a feel for the barrel and creates whip through the zone. Great student.
