Emil Gonzales is a 2020 OF/2B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Las Cruces, NM who attends Onate. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.94 seconds. Hits from open stance with upright posture, high back elbow in set, linear path through zone, pull-side contact with some barrel skills, can create backspin, shows good contact skills with projection with strength. Primary outfielder, shows twitch to footwork coming in, longer strides, fields clean, length to arm stroke coming through, clocked up to 76 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, hands and feet work well in tandem, has athleticism in lateral movements, several steps into crow hop/subsequent release, clocked up to 76 mph across the diamond.
